Speaking about goals in life is very difficult for a lot of people. But, talking about the world’s goals to alleviate poverty is a much more serious, and sometimes, head breaking task for many.
However, 50 young people from all over Asia and the Pacific met in Bangkok, Thailand from March 23-25, 2017 to talk about just that.
Organized by ARROW and YouthLEAD, The ACT!2030 Philippine Alliance took part in the Pre Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development Youth Forum which provided young people a space to cite issues which uniquely affect them and provide recommendations in response to these issues.
From health to environment, from food security to sustainable cities… these are just some of the relevant topics identified during the meeting. A call to action was successfully created and endorsed by the attending organizations. The call to action was then presented during the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development high level meeting. The copy of the call to action can be downloaded here.
I was able to interview some of the participants. We wanted to get their opinions on the issues facing young people and to get a glimpse of what they are hopeful about. Listen to the podcasts from the link below:
